Administration

Chris Shipley
Director
Christine has been in education for over twenty years and is beginning her tenth year at Christ Covenant School! She is from Houston, Texas, and attended Baylor University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology/Pre-Med. After staying at Baylor for a post-bachelor’s program in Education, she loved her student teaching so much that she went on to get a Master’s degree in Educational Administration! Chris has six children – Cole (married to Hannah), Mace, Campbell, Corinne, Charis, and Clyde. She and her family attend Christ Covenant Church, and her favorite Bible passage is Psalm 139. Christine LOVES being the director at CCS and is excited about teaching kids to love God, others, and learning!
Whitney Flint
Administrative Assistant
Whitney is a Baton Rouge native and has been married for 13 years to Dustin. Together, they have 3 daughters, Grace, Hannah, and Julia. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in political science and went on to receive a Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. After practicing real estate law for almost a decade, Whitney became a stay-at-home mom and now helps in the front office. The Flint family attends Christ Covenant Church and her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11.

Preschool

Amy Black
2 Year Olds
Amy was born in Michigan, and has lived in Texas, Wyoming, and Lafayette, LA, before moving to Baton Rouge. She and her husband Barrett have four children – Sofia, Naomi, Julia, and Elliott. Amy has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from LSU and has been in education for seven and a half years. She has been at CCS for four years! In her spare time, Amy enjoys baking and playing with the family’s dog. She and her family attend South Baton Rouge Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge. Her favorite Bible verses are Hebrews 4:14-16.
Laura Griffin
2 Year Olds
Elementary Music
Laura is from Abita Springs, LA, and she and her husband Brad have two daughters. Before she taught here at CCS, both of her girls attended the school, so it holds an even more special place in her heart. She has been working with children since 2010, and she and her family are members of the Lutheran Church of our Savior, where she teaches children's church on Sunday mornings. She loves to sing and plays several instruments, and loves incorporating music into her classroom! Her favorite verse is Hebrews 11:1, "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."
Sarah Pittman
2 Year Olds
Sarah is from Baton Rouge and she and her husband Paul have four daughters; Hannah (married to John), Jenna (married to Lyndon), Emma (married to Henrique), and Ella, who is finishing up her teaching degree at LSU. She has one granddaughter named Sophia who fills their lives with so much joy. She graduated from LSU with a B.S. in English and Spanish Education. Sarah has been teaching for 17 years with 8 of those at CCS! In her spare time Sarah enjoys walking, reading, music, traveling to the beach and Phoenix to visit her daughter and son-in-law, and spending time with her family. Also, of course – LSU football! She attends Grace Life Fellowship and her favorite Bible verses are Psalm 139:1-12.
Toni Deranger
2 Year Olds
Toni is from Hammond, Louisiana, and has been married to her husband, Scott, for 35 years. They have three children - Taylor (married to Trey Burns), Nicholas (married to Avery), and Allie (engaged to Will Bartels). She also has one granddaughter, Stella. Toni has a degree in marketing and has been teaching at CCS for seven years with an additional 10 years of working, subbing, and volunteering in elementary schools. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, pilates, and reading. She attends St. Jude Catholic Church and her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13, which says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Amy Abadie
3 Year Olds
Amy is from Baton Rouge and she and her husband, Creighton, have three children- Madeline, Olivia (son-in-law, Matthew) and Thomas. Amy attended St. Joseph’s Academy and received her B.A in Communications from LSU. She has worked in education for the last 15 years and has been at Christ Covenant School for 2 years. She enjoys traveling, yoga/Pilates, and serving in her church parish. She attends St. George Catholic Church, and her favorite bible verse is Mark 14:36- “Not what I will, but what you will.” Amy loves working at CCS and calls it the BEST job ever!
Jenny Hall
3 Year Olds
Jenny is from Baton Rouge, LA and has been married to her high school sweetheart, Patrick, for 19 years. They have two children - John Patrick and Catherine. Jenny has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from LSU and taught for 7 years in Houston and Atlanta private schools before staying home to raise her kids. In her free time she loves iced coffee, organic vegetable gardening, beekeeping, spending time with Patrick and the kids, walking the dogs and cooking. She is a member of Our Lady of Mercy and her favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:6: Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your requests known to God.
Melissa Burns
3 Year Olds
Melissa is from New Roads, LA, and has been married to her husband Bubby Burns for 34 years! They have four sons; Trey (married to Taylor), Reid (married to Bailey), Jack, and Hays. They have one granddaughter, Stella. Melissa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and has been in education since 1991 and at CCS for 20 years. In her spare time she enjoys yoglates, walking the LSU lakes, shopping, reading, and spending time with her family. She attends St. Aloysius Catholic Church and her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Nadine Donner
3 Year Olds
Nadine has worked at Christ Covenant School for four years. She is from Lake Charles, LA but has called Baton Rouge home for 20+ years. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She began her teaching adventure after a CPA career in corporate, nonprofit and economic development accounting. Nadine and her husband enjoy time with their family as Mom, Dad, Deanie and Pops to their daughter, Emily, and her husband Harland and grandson Harland, Jr.( and grandson #2 on the way!) and their son John. Nadine and Chris are parishioners of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Her favorite Bible passage is Psalm 23. Nadine loves her garden/yard, dogs and chickens and spending time in Houston with her grandson! My dream has come true to teach here at CCS!
Elaine Dupuy
4 Year Olds
Elaine was born in Louisville, KY, and at 13 months old she and her family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where she grew up. Elaine has her Bachelor of Arts degree from Brenau College and has been teaching at Christ Covenant School for 24 years! She and her husband Chip have been married for 39 years and have three daughters that are all alumni of CCP; Maddie, Lauren, and Kate and 5 grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening, exercising, and traveling to the beach and national parks. Elaine attends St. Aloysius Catholic Church and her favorite Bible verse is the Golden Rule. Elaine finds that the most important part of her day is taking time to teach life skills, and to empower each child to make wise choices. Each day, she works hard to facilitate the school’s mission – love God, each other, and learning.
Nancy Cuccio
4 Year Olds
Nancy is from Baton Rouge and she and her husband Sam have four children – Matthew, Anna Catherine, Elizabeth and John Michael. Nancy attended U-High and got her B.S. in preschool education from LSU. She has been in education for 29 years and at CCS for 17. In her spare time Nancy loves to read and garden! She attends First Presbyterian Church and her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 42:1, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.” According to Nancy, teaching is the best job and CCS is the best place to do it!
Megan Ferris
Kindergarten
Megan has been in education for many years, both during and after graduating LSU with a bachelor degree in Elementary Education. She received an extra certification and is certified to teach Pre-K thru 5th grade. She is married to Chris and they have one daughter, Madeleine, who will be starting 5th grade at Dunham in the Fall of 2024. Megan was a stay at home mom for 9 years before returning to the classroom in 2022. Kindergarten was never on her radar, but she fell in love immediately. Her favorite Bible verse is Lamentations 3:22-23. Megan loves being a part of the Christ Covenant Elementary team and looks forward to continuing to live this dream.
Dotty Loar
Transitional Kindergarten
Dotty is from New Jersey. She is married to Danny and they have three children and nine grandchildren. Dotty has a degree in Elementary Education from Mount Saint Mary College in Plainfield, NJ and has been teaching for 38 years! She has been at CCS for 34 of those years. In her spare time Dotty enjoys church work and cooking. She attends Our Lady of Mercy and her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28. Dotty feels blessed beyond words to be at CCS!

Elementary

Paige Gendron
1st Grade
Paige is from Baton Rouge and she and her husband Scott have four daughters; Jane Anne, Sophie, Grace, and Natalie. Paige has a degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana Tech. She has been in education for 20 years, the CCS kindergarten teacher for three years, and is currently teaching 1st grade! In her spare time Paige enjoys reading, gardening, and doing puzzles. She is a member of Christ Covenant Church and her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.
Michele Nichols
2nd Grade
Michele was born in New Orleans and raised in Luling, LA and now lives in Gonzales. She and her husband Keith have four daughters – Madison, Miranda, Mallorie, and Marissa. Michele has a degree in Elementary Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and has been in education for 28 years. She loves teaching second grade at CCS. We have the best staff and students! In her spare time she enjoys gardening, reading, and trips to the beach. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Gonzales and her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Jill Williamson
3rd Grade
Jill and her husband Casey have been married for almost 24 years and have three children. Her daughter Jadyn is 18 and will begin LSU in the fall. Their boys Jonathan (14) and Joshua (12) are at Sequitur Classical Academy. They have been members of Christ Covenant Church since its beginning, and have watched this school grow under Chris's leadership. They just recently started a new church, Goodwood Community Church, where Casey is the pastor. Jill graduated from Troy University in Alabama years ago with a degree in PR/ Journalism, then worked alongside Casey with the ministry of Campus Outreach while also homeschooling their children for 10 years. Those early years were such a joy and filled with great memories, and she’s excited to step back into that age group and guide children towards loving the Lord and all that He has made. She loves to decorate and garden and spends a lot of time these days watching her boys play baseball. The Colorado mountains are her happy place!

Chelsea Fourrier
Teacher's Aid
Chelsea is from Baton Rouge and received a degree in Psychology from LSU. She and her husband, Brad, have 2 sons Owen and Jack. She has been with CCS for 12 years! In her spare time she enjoys reading and being outdoors. She considers CCS to be one of her greatest blessings and absolutely loves going to "work" each day. Her favorite Bible verse is John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
Laurie Ginn
Teacher's Aid
Laurie is a retired dental hygienist getting her degree from LSU Dental School. She has been at CCS for 7 years. What a gift! She and her husband, Scott, have 2 children. Blair is a married occupational therapist and John Eric is working in finance as an accountant. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, exercise and trips to the beach. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Stacey Rosenbrook
Teacher's Aid
Stacey Rosenbrook,born and raised in in Trinidad and Tobago,migrated to the USA in 2000, lived in Asheville N.C ,where I worked at Frist Baptist child Development for 5yrs , we moved to Baton Rouge in 2012, worked at Runnels preschool for 4yr ,I’m married to Brent Rosenbrook for 17 years, we have two amazing kids,Razia now 16 she attends Baton Rouge High School,our son Keiran is 10 and is going to 5th grade at WHAM , looking forward to this new journey at CCP ! One of my favorite Bible verse 1John 4:7-8 Beloved let us love one another for live is of Got and every one that loveth is born of God,and knoweth . He that loveth not knoweth not God for God is love.
Teri D'Armond
Teacher's Aid
Teri D’Armond is excited to help out in the 2 year old classrooms this year! She is from Baton Rouge and is married to Tom D’Armond. They have been married for 26 years and have 3 children. Their oldest son is married with 2 children and live in Birmingham. The next in line is her daughter who is also married and lives in Baton Rouge. Her youngest son is a junior in college at Samford University in Birmingham. Teri graduated from LSU in early childhood development. After college she moved to Dallas to further her studies at SMU and graduated with a degree in language therapy. She then had an opportunity to continue her education in teaching and became Montessori certified for children ages 3-6 years. She has been substituting at Christ Covenant School and has enjoyed every minute! Teri enjoys exercising, reading, spending time with friends and family, and her most special times are with her 2 grandsons! Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11

Gerry McArthur
Spanish
Gerry is from Baton Rouge and has her Bachelor of Arts from LSU. She has been teaching for 39 years and has been at Christ Covenant School for ten years! In her spare time, Gerry enjoys music and singing, interior design, sudoku puzzles, and learning languages. Her favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” “Miss Mac” as she is affectionately called says working with young children has been a very fulfilling source of joy in her life and she has the best job in the world!‍
Katie Soniat
Art
Katie is from Zachary, Louisiana. She and her husband, Marcus, have been married nearly 5 years and they have a son, Jayber. Katie has enjoyed working for small businesses over the years in restaurant and retail and has freelanced as a watercolor illustrator and calligrapher for the past eight years. In her spare time she enjoys reading, running, painting, baking, and spending time with her husband and son. She is a member of Christ Covenant Church and one of her favorite Bible verses is Psalm 27:4, "One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple."
Terry Spiller
Preschool Music
Terry was born in Ohio, but spent most of her growing up years on Cinclare Plantation, across the river from Baton Rouge. She married Lindsey, and they have two children, Sarah and Evie, and eight grandchildren. Both of her daughters attended CCP. Sarah went on to teach Kindergarten at CCS and currently two of her children attend. Terry graduated from LSU in General Studies, and went on to take early education classes. She attends First Presbyterian Church, where she currently teaches three year olds in Sunday School. Her most favorite Bible verse, tough decision- I have several, is Philippians 4:4. God has blessed me with many years at CCS for which I am eternally grateful. The women who work here, as well as the families I have had the honor to serve, have all had a shaping influence on my life. I thank God for all of them!
